The most important of all is to clean the pipe thoroughly so that it becomes free from any ashes from previous smoking. To do the

pipe cleaning, you may try running a pipe cleaner via the stem and then blow it out in order to ensure that nothing is blocking the air passage.

The next phase is to prepare the tobacco. Take the amount you would like to smoke. Place it over a white napkin and make the tobacco free from any possible clumps. Now loosely fill the bowel with the tobacco. Remember, you should not press tightly at the time of filling.

Lighting the Pipe

While keeping the pipe in between your lips, apply the light over the tobacco on a circular motion. Make very low puffs on the pipe. It is quite possible to see that the tobacco is swelling up or disentangling in the bowel.

Do not feel confused. This is absolutely natural and the main objective is to burn light. This also aids in removing excess moisture from the tobacco content so that the tobacco becomes prepared for True Light. After this lighting, it may be possible that the tobacco may not be positioned at the same level as it was before.
